Matt Woods and the Natural Disasters
Knoxville
Bio
Matt Woods is a product of Appalachia. You can hear his East Tennessee roots tangled in the lines of his songs and it is through this filter he distills the world, both external and internal, into his unique brand of songwriting. You can call it alt-country, folk rock, even cow-punk but no matter what it’s called, at its core it is honest and heartfelt. Spending most of his time on the road, either engaging listeners as a solo artist or with his band, Matt Woods and the Natural Disasters, he would say, if asked, that he is “just trying to share some truth.” 2025 sees a return to releasing new music for Matt with a series of singles leading up to the autumn release of Matt’s fifth full-length studio album which is due this fall (hopefully just in time for Fest!). This latest effort, tentatively titled Brighter Nights Ahead, directs focus on the trying times we have been experiencing in recent years and yearns to build strength in solidarity and resistance.
