Bio
Born out of the Causeway Coast, Ireland,
Good Friend is Adam Carroll as lead vocals and bassist, Izzy Curran on the drums, and Andy Reid as lead guitarist.
Good Friend often have their sound described as “punk rock salted by the sea.” It’s melodic as it is ferocious. Their songs speak to their north coast roots, and our shared trials and tribulations. Their first record, Ride the Storm, captures this spirit. Inspired by the works of Lady Augusta Gregory, Joe Strummer and William Butler Yeats, the album dives into Irish mythology, scenes from the band’s hometown, and friendships.
In 2016, Good Friend signed on to their EU record label Gunner Records, and after a now legendary day in Philadelphia day drinking US-Red Scare Industries took them on.
Known for high-energy shows, they’ve toured the world since their founding, traversing America, Europe, and the United Kingdom, touring with bands like MakeWar, Brendan Kelly of The Lawrence Arms, The Copyrights, Sincere Engineer, Red City Radio, Guerilla Poubelle and Billy Liar.
Good Friend have released several EPs and compilations, including “Tell Me Ma EP” and “The Erin Rose EP” and have featured on Red Scare Industries; 20 Years of Dreaming and Scheming released in 2024 in which Adam joined up to celebrate playing shows in Beat Kitchen, Chicago and became the first Irishman to play The Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas.
Their next record is due to be released in 2025, and the band is gearing up to open up 2-sold out shows for the US’s Menzingers this April.
Just as importantly, several trusted sources including a national Irish paper have coined them as Ireland’s sexiest punk band, a title they intend to defend.
