¡Fuákata! is a 5 piece ska-punk band that fuses Ska, hardcore, latin rhythms, reggae, and punk rock to give audiences a unique blend of sounds that is inherently Miami to its core. “Fuákata” is Spanish slang for impact, like the words boom or pow. It’s an onomatopoeia. With fast drum beats, latin rhythms and clever lyrics sprinkled throughout the set, the band has heavy moments mixed with dub-inspired horn breaks that are coated in ‘special effects’. The group will have anyone skanking and vibing, even if they don’t like ska-punk.
