Bitters and Distractions is an acoustic punk duo from Long Island, NY on Sell The Heart Records. Consisting of Jeremy Quitko and Travis Johnides, they were described by Punk as Folk as, “This is punk proper, just done with acoustic guitars.” While initially starting as a project which included Jeremy handing his lyrics over to Travis to bring life to them in the form of song, the band began writing and recording and receiving too much praise to not make this project a band.
Bloggin Rotten states the band has “catchy sing-along jams that will turn your vocal chords to blisters with all your throat shedding singing” while the Pop Punk Dad states “the two have a knack for writing tunes that you want to sing out at 2am while hammered off your ass.”
In 2023, they signed with Berkeley, California based record label Sell The Heart Records and released a 7″ vinyl titled “The Home That Procrastination Built” the following year, which was then followed up by a single called “Punk Rock Christmas.”
There’s no stopping this acoustic punk duo and they’re excited for what their future has in store. Punk as Folk agreed with this sentiment and stated “I had no f’n clue who these guys were a few days ago, and now I can’t wait to hear what they do next.”
