Some bands just sound right from the off and Portland’s Amusement is one which immediately hits the mark. There’s a warm, fuzzy, ’90s guitar quality with a thick, melodic sound across this release—recalling the likes of Seaweed, Leatherface, and Dinosaur Jr.—but this stands out on its own merits without such comparisons. Amusement includes former members of From Ashes Rise, Arctic Flowers, and Deathreat.
