Meat Wave is a Chicago-based punk rock trio known for their raw, energetic sound and sharp, socially aware lyrics. Formed in 2011, the band consists of Chris Sutter (vocals, guitar), Joe Gac (bass), and Ryan Wizniak (drums). Drawing inspiration from post-punk and noise rock, their music blends jagged guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and urgent vocals, creating a sound that’s both aggressive and infectious.
Meat Wave gained recognition with their self-titled debut in 2012, followed by “Delusion Moon” (2015), which showcased their dynamic mix of melody and chaos. Their later releases, including “The Incessant” (2017) and “Malign Hex” (2022), further cemented their reputation as one of Chicago’s most vital underground acts. Known for their relentless live performances, the band continues to push the boundaries of punk with an unfiltered, uncompromising edge.
