Is FEST 13/PRE-FEST 2 all ages?
As of now, every venue at THE FEST 13 in Gainesville is 18+.
The Bo Diddley Plaza may be all ages. We are still waiting on ruling from the city. 1982, CMC, and Boca Fiesta/ Palomino are for sure all ages. Durty Nelly’s Pub is 21+. This is a rule of the city of Gainesville, and we have no say over this. If you have questions best bet is to contact each venue and ask them about their policy since they are the ones who have to enforce them.
As for Ybor (TAMPA) , The Orpheum, and Crowbar are ALL AGES. New World Brewery is 18+. We will see about the TBA 4th venue we will be adding.
EVERYONE ATTENDING FEST 13 and PRE-FEST 2 in YBOR MUST HAVE A VALID ID WITH BIRTH DATE TO GET INTO ANY OF THE VENUES. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! IF YOU ARE FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY, PLEASE BRING YOUR PASSPORT TO EACH VENUE. OTHER COUNTRIES’ DRIVERS LICENSES WILL NOT WORK AT THE VENUES. If you don’t have a driver’s license, then you must have a legal ID or Passport. College IDs will not work. This is not the ’70s.
What are the venues? And how far are the venues?
GAINESVILLE: All of the venues are in walking distance. The Bo Diddley Plaza, The Atlantic, The Wooly, 8 Seconds, CMC, Rockey’s Piano Bar, Boca Fiesta/Palomino, and Loosey’s are all in a four block radius. 1982 is about 11 blocks from The Atlantic and 8 blocks from 8 Seconds. These are all walking blocks. Gainesville has a very small downtown.
YBOR (TAMPA): YBOR is a thriving historic district and has many clubs/venues all in walking distance right off of one strip (E 7th Ave). The venues are all within a 6 walking block stretch. Super easy to find and plenty of bars, eats and shops in between.
What’s the deal with the charter bus to get me to Gainesville from Tampa?
We have secured a charter bus company to help you FEST folk get from TAMPA to GAINESVILLE and back. You can go to the PRE-FEST 2 PAGE for more info and to the TICKETS PAGE to purchase a ticket on the PORK CHOP FEST EXPRESS! We are trying to make this as easy as possible for you to enjoy both cities. Attendees who rode the PCFE last year loved it, so I am sure it will be a popular and easy form of transportation again this year.
How do I get there? Rental cars? Flights? Greyhound?
GAINESVILLE: The Gainesville Regional Airport is a quick cab ride to downtown. They mainly use Atlanta as a hub. Check there, but Jacksonville, Tampa, or Orlando is usually cheaper. Also, check out: www.megabus.com. It runs from Atlanta and Orlando. Super cheap, clean and they have Wi-Fi. Gainesville also has a Greyhound station that is in walking distance from downtown or a short cab ride. There is also an Enterprise Rental Car office near the Holiday Inn University Center on University Ave.
YBOR (TAMPA): The Tampa International Airport has several ground transportation options for you that can be found here. TAMPA also has a Greyhound station that is a half mile from the TAMPA HILTON DOWNTOWN. There is a rad street car that boards right near the TAMPA HILTON DOWNTOWN and will take you to Ybor where all the shows are. Fairs are $2.50 or you can purchase an all day pass for $5. You can find more info here about fairs, stops and running times. ***I highly suggest getting this to make your time in Tampa/Ybor easy, safe and fun.***
Can I buy a FEST 13 PASS or BIG PRE-FEST IN LITTLE YBOR 2 PASS for just one day?
Nope. However, we do offer single day walk up sales for each venue. See the next question below for more info.
Can I buy tickets for an individual show in advance?
Nope. We do have individual walk up sales for each venue. NO ADVANCE PURCHASE on individual showcase tickets. We sell 10% of the venues capacity to a first come first serve at doors each day. Price and door times will be announced when we announce the schedule in August if all goes according to plan.
Are you full? Can my band play?
In the past, we had applications for bands. A few years ago, Fest 9 me thinks, we had 656 bands send in applications. We think we have it pretty dialed in this year on who we have asked. Sorry. No band applications this year. Please do not email us asking.
Can I be an official FEST/ PRE-FEST Photographer/Videographer?
All interested photographers should fill out an official 2014 FEST photographer application before 9/1/14 and if you have additional questions please contact the Official Fest Photography Overlord (firstname.lastname@example.org). All interested videographers should contact the Official Fest Video Czar (email@example.com) with portfolio samples and details about previous work. We can only accept a limited number of FEST 13/ PRE-FEST 2 Photographers & Videographers, and their mission is to document the entire FEST experience, so experience with bands/live music is not necessary but obviously helpful.

What are the drinking laws?
GAINESVILLE: 21 and up can drink at the venues. Package liquor can be purchased between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., and beer, wine and drinks at a bar can be purchased between 7 a.m. and 2 a.m.
YBOR/TAMPA: 21 and up can drink at the venues. Venues drinking hours varies by location, but all are allowed to be open until 3 a.m. and serve if they choose. The Seminole Hard Rock Casino is open even later since it’s on Native American owned land and not subject to the county’s drinking laws. Their nightclub is open until 6 a.m. and grabbing a drink is possible 24/7 on the hotel’s premises. Package liquor can be purchased in stores. They tend to stay open until 11 or 12, but are allowed to stay open until 3 a.m., just like the bars in Tampa/Ybor.

We can always use help in promotion, and here are two great ways that you can help us spread the word about FEST 13 and especially BIG PRE-FEST IN LITTLE YBOR 2. 1) You can email email@example.com with your full contact info and mailing address. We will send you FEST promotional posters and postcards to help spread the word. Please let us know how many of each you would like as well as where you plan to put them up at. 2) Join us on Facebook , Instagram, and follow us on Twitter. How can I volunteer for FEST 13/ PRE-FEST 2 in YBOR to get a free pass?
If you live in the Gainesville or Tampa area and want to help out and be a part of THE FEST 13 or PRE-FEST 2, here is your chance. THE FEST is looking for kick ass, friendly and serious volunteers. Volunteers are always needed to help run Fest. We offer a free pass to anyone who works a shift the weekend of. You will also get a shirt that no one else can buy. A shift runs about 8-10 hours and is anything from working registration, the door, helping bands load equipment, barricade or stage security or being stage manager. Volunteer signup meetings will not be announced until sometime this summer and are usually held in the months of September and October. We will have sign up/ informative meetings in each city. If you would like to be informed when these sign up/ information meetings will be held or have any questions please email your full contact info to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Can I table or distro/table at the FEST 13/ PRE-FEST 2?
We will be doing THE FEST Flea Market at both registrations. One will be at the HILTON GARDEN INN (YBOR) and the other at at the HOLIDAY INN (GAINESVILLE). It will be set up in the same area as registration so you will have everyone who attends, plays and volunteers passing through your area. Please click here for more information on the FLEA.
Will there be an official FEST HOTEL this year?
Yes! Go to the Hotels Page for more information! We have several hotels to choose from and options in each city.
How do I get a refund?
When you purchased your FEST 13/ BIG PRE-FEST IN LITTLE YBOR 2 passes it stated that there are NO REFUNDS on passes. You may, however, change the name on your pass. There is a $20 charge to change the name. You need to email SARA (email@example.com) to arrange the name change and payment for the $20 fee.
KEEP IN MIND, IF YOU WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO DO THIS YOU WILL BE ONE OF THE MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE WAITED UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL TO READ THE AUTO RESPONDER INFO YOU WILL GET KICKED BACK BEFORE FREAKING OUT OR EMAILING AGAIN. IT WILL GET CHANGED AS LONG AS YOU EMAIL IN YOUR REQUEST BEFORE 10/24/14 AT NOON EST! ANY NAME CHANGE REQUEST MADE AFTER THAT YOU ARE RISKING THE CHANCE IT WILL NOT BE PROCESSED IN TIME FOR REGISTRATION. WE DO UNDERSTAND THAT CERTAIN SITUATIONS COULD COME UP LAST MINUTE THAT COULD HINDER YOU FROM COMING. IF YOU HAVE THIS SITUATION PLEASE EMAIL AND WE HOPEFULLY WILL BE ABLE TO PROCESS YOUR REQUEST IN TIME.
If you miss registration check in, you will not be able to pick up your info or wristbands at the venues. NO EXCEPTIONS or REFUNDS!!! If you purchased merch and now find that you can’t attend, please email us. We can mail you your merch, but it will be 3 weeks after FEST 13. You will also be responsible for paying for shipping. If you do not pick up your shirts at registration, but we see that you checked in, we are going to charge you a $20 dumb ass fee to even dealing with you at all. *A $20 flat charge will be applied for any changes on rooms once the room is booked.*

Before September 1st - 2014: Full Refund minus $20 change fee
September 1st – Oct 8th-2014 : 50% Refund minus $20 change fee
Oct 9th – Oct 31st: NO REFUNDS AVAILABLE BUT YOU CAN CHANGE THE NAME ON YOUR RESERVATION FOR A $20 FEE.

How many people can stay in one room?
HOLIDAY INN UNIVERSITY: Each room booking will receive up to (4) Holiday Inn wristbands at check-in. These will allow you to enter the Hotel after FEST hours. This saves time so you do not have to check back in at the front desk each time. It also keeps unwanted people raging at your hotel. ALL OTHER HOTELS: (4) GUESTS for a DOUBLE, (2) GUESTS for a KING/SINGLE BED ROOM.
When I book a HOTEL ROOM through this site, is my card charged then or when I check in?
When booking a hotel room on the FEST website, the credit card used will be charged immediately upon placing the order. You will have to leave a credit card or cash deposit at the front desk for incidentals. Check the HOTELS PAGE for a breakdown on each hotel option.
Are the bands playing Big Pre-Fest in Little Ybor 2 all playing The Fest 13 in Gainesville as well?
YES! All the bands playing Pre-FEST 2 will be playing FEST 13. Many have decided to play “Special” sets for PRE-FEST 2. We will announce that info later when the bands confirm what will be “Special” about their shows.
