The Impossibles from Austin, Texas released their debut LP on Gainesville’s own Fueled by Ramen Records in 1997. Their fusion of Weezer-style pop rock and Operation Ivy-inspired ska punk hit the late 90s sweet spot, while their distinctive throwback baseball jerseys and navy blue & white color coordination helped secure their cult band status.
Artists as diverse as Less Than Jake and Joyce Manor have sung their praises, and New Tone pioneers Bad Operation even sampled their iconic “Hi, we’re The Impossibles from Austin, Texas!” on their self-titled album.
Ending their on-again off-again initial run in 2002, the band only played two reunion shows over the subsequent two decades. Now it’s time for the band who released “Back 4 the Attack”, “Return”, and “Come Back” to make good on those promises!
