The Bomb That Will Bring Us Together

The story goes like this. Guitarist Billy Bungaroth (of JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound) asks bass player Rodrigo Palma (of Saves the Day, Her Heads on Fire) if he wanted to play some live sets of Smiths songs and does he know a singer. So Rodrigo texts Bob Nanna (Braid, Hey Mercedes) to see if he was interested, to which he responds “How Soon is Now?” So since early 2025, the band now known as The Bomb That Will Bring Us Together has been charming Chicago and midwest audiences with their decidedly emo(tional) takes on the classic tunes we know and love.
