The members of Teddy Duchamp’s Army, collectively, have been playing the Fest in different incarnations since FEST 2!
Formed in a Pittsburgh basement in 1998. After releasing a demo and one EP the band fast became a staple in the DIY punk/hardcore scene touring the country and sharing the stage with the likes of Hot Water Music, Strike Anywhere, Dillinger Four, Paint It Black, Alkaline Trio…etc The band then joined a roster including Thursday, My Chemical Romance and Murder By Death signing with exploding NJ label Eyeball Records. After a few line up changes they opted for a name change and released one LP under the moniker “Voice In The Wire” but broke up shortly after the album’s release.
Cut to more recent era, the band was asked to reunite as Teddy DuChamp’s Army to open for the Gorilla Biscuits. In the practices leading up to the show they got the itch to work on new material. In January of this year they hit the studio to record “…the spirit never dies.” with a few new faces in the lineup. Mario Quintero of Spotlights, Sisters has now joined the band on second guitar and J Robbins of JAWBOX, Burning Airlines..etc played bass on the record, in addition to being the album’s producer.
For folks whose record collections are filled with releases from the Dischord, No Idea, and Jade Tree Records catalogs.
