Pinkish
Charlottesville/ Richmond VAIn 2023, Nina Chaplin, formerly of the punk band Wet Nurse, relocated from Orlando, FL to Charlottesville, VA. After a few months of songwriting, she decided it was time to form another band. Since she didn’t know anyone, she reached out to strangers on the internet through the local Reddit page for drummers or bass players to bring her songs to life. There, she met drummer Ben Cook and made plans to jam. After a few sessions, Ben recruited bassist Mac Outlaw. And so, Pinkish was born—a power trio that blended sounds from various generations, but for lack of a better term, they call it Pop Punk. The band quickly wrote a handful of songs and headed to the studio to record their debut EP, “Half Sweet.” The album consists of seven tracks filled with witty wordplay, raw emotion, and musically inspired pop punk gems. Influenced by bands like The Breeders, Blue Album Era Weezer, Joyce Manor, Title Fight, and many more, you can expect a powerhouse of upbeat, heartfelt bangers.
