Richmond, VA

Ghouli is a hardcore punk band from Richmond, Virginia. Formed in early 2018, the band was founded by drummer Eric Kelly, guitarist Mikey Kent, and singer Samantha Poe and, along with the recent addition of bassist Jake Morley, blends elements of early 80s hardcore and death rock, with a sound akin to TSOL, Poison Idea, and Rudimentary Peni. Poe’s lyrics reflect themes of mental health struggles and trauma, often through a dark and macabre context. With the 2020 release of their EP “Nothing”, the band doubles down on the dark aggression hinted at on their demo, with six short and ripping songs.
