Donovan Wolfington

New Orleans, LA
Donovan Wolfington is a party angst 5-piece hailing from New Orleans, LA. Their brand of catchy, yet emotional indie/punk draws from an eclectic group of influences including saltines, partying, making friends, traveling, and growing up in general. Neil Berthier and Matthew Seferian met at their college freshman orientation in 2011, both with the hopes of getting out of college alive and playing some music along the way. When they got to college, they realized that everyone else that they had jammed with was not trying to rock nearly as hard as they were. With different musical ideas in their minds, and the same amount of energy and frustration built up, they decided to form what is now Donovan Wolfington. Though there have been many members throughout the past 3 years of being a quintet, the current line up consists of Neil Berthier (Guitar and Vocals), Matthew Seferian (Guitar and Vocals), Savannah Saxton (Keyboards and Vocals), Alex Skalany (Bass), and Michael Saladis (Drums).

Over their career as a band they have played every thing from house shows to sold out 500 capacity venues with locals and national touring acts alike including The Front Bottoms, Joyce Manor, The World Is a Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, Cheap Girls, Pity Sex and many more. Their debut album “Stop Breathing” was released April 2013 through Broken World Media & Community Records. The album consists of love, hate, disgust, and a charming hint of a silver lining for all hectic situations.  The band’s new EP “Scary Stories You Tell In The Dark” is a distinct blend of heartfelt lyrics and chaotic punk rock that makes for a soothing redefinition of the common term “indie rock”. Just like stop breathing, the recording process was very DIY and they did it mostly themselves. Ross Farbe recorded and mixed Stop Breathing and Chaz Sexton recorded everything except the drums on Scary Stories, and then the band mixed and made the sound exactly the way they wanted it from there. The 5 song EP is 13 minutes long and will be coming out on Topshelf Records. The bands’ motto is, “We are going to push things as far as we can. When we stop making good music or that stops being fun, that’s when our band will end.” With the plans of touring as much as possible and going everywhere and anywhere they can, it doesn’t look like Donovan Wolfington will be stopping anytime soon.
