Caravela is Frank and Stephen Graniero, a band of brothers from the state of New York.
Their latest record “Ski” sits suspended in arcadia — spirited and fervent, entirely itself. Produced with longtime collaborator Greg Dunn, the release has the boys at their most natural state.
“We’ve always intended to make music that was transportive and transparent. ‘Ski’ is a sound, a sense of movement, and a place to us. A little bit like a dream, but better.”
The instrumentation drives forward while remaining palpable. Lyrics move through themes of connection, longing, and choice — faced with the whirlwind in the kingdom. The record follows 2015’s full length “Caravela Forever” and more recent “Grand Prix” EP. In the times between the band toured both abroad and nationally, most recently supporting Prawn on their US headline run. They continue to play and create with affection amidst the noise.
