Antillectual
Antillectual is a punkrock trio from the Nijmegen area, the Netherlands. Antillectual released its highly anticipated second album “Testimony” on March 3, 2008. The band toured the USA and entire Europe countless times.
Antillectual formed in September 2000. Before recording their debut full length “Silencing Civilization” the band released several demos. The debut album gets a lot of critical acclaim. It gives Antillectual the opportunity to tour monthly in 2006. 2007 finally brings them new recordings.
Antillectual’s music is melodic yet aggressive. Influences vary from punk to metal to hardcore to emo. And beyond. The band has a raw and diverse sound. The critical lyrics range from political to personal. Antillectual tries to combine a Do-It-Yourself approach with a professional attitude.
Antillectual plays energetic live shows that inspire a lot of people. Last 5 years they played over 300 shows. Among them two 3-week USA-tours, four 2-week Euro-tours. The band tries to tour abroad on a monthly basis. Besides touring the USA Antillectual toured the U.K., Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Belgium and Luxembourg. Playing with Ignite, Strung Out, Strike Anywhere, Against Me!, Story of the Year, A Wilhelm Scream and many more. The band played Festivals all over Europe like the Give It A Name fest (Ita), Valkhof Affaire (NL), Donau Insel fest (A), Trashfest (NL) and many more.
