Mockingbird Wish Me Luck
Kitchener, ON, Canada
Kitchener Ontario's Mockingbird Wish Me Luck have blown out their voices in studios, had vans broken into, been at each others throats, shit talked and been shit talked, seen the highways and bars of North American cities. A punk band. Southern Ontario. Central members Mike Arnott and Bishop Wierzbicki have written and played music together for the past decade.
2009 saw the self-release of their debut, Goodbye Debris, a dense 4 song record, aggressive and straight forward. With emotive depth & pop sensibility, the EP found positive feedback and critical encouragement stemming from publications in Ontario. A sense of potential. Later that year Mockingbird Wish Me Luck were added to the stacked line up of Canadian indie powerhouse Dine Alone Records, who re-released the EP.
The band has since released two 7"s, Branches (2010), Living Weakness (2011) showing a slightly darker and more layered approach to their songwriting. Honest and dynamic, the subtleties are signs of progress. They've toured across North America with established artists and contemporaries (Alexisonfire, Leatherface, The Menzingers). Played festivals to thousands and basements to tens. Slept in hotels and in vans and on floors.
In the winter of 2013 Mockingbird Wish Me Luck plan to record their anticipated full length Lp.
