I waited a little too long to get a hotel and all the close ones are booked. Does anyone know of a hotel that's a little farther away (like the Holiday Inn Express) that has a bus stop/route nearby that will drop you off fairly close to all of the activities? I'd really rather not get popped for $20-30 cab ride twice a day if i can avoid it.

Knights Inn still has rooms and you can just about walk from there.

The bus service in Gainesville is called RTS. The late-night service is called the Later Gator. Here's a link to the Later Gator route map and schedule information: http://go-rts.com/other.php#laterCareful, though, service is spotty as fuck. Do your homework before you commit to a place. And you might still get stung for a cab ride or have along walk back Sunday night no matter what you do, unless you have new friends who give you a lift or you stay out until 6 AM.

Service will be decent during the day but if you stumble out the bar even a minute later than 1:30, those plans can get screwed pretty easily.

This is exactly accurate. RTS is, to say the least, unreliable. AND, if for some reason one of the beat ass busses they use for Later Gator breaks down, the route stops. They don't bring in a new bus to finish the route, you are just kinda screwed. Not to mention there are always a few stragglers of UF undergrads around that DON'T go to the game and they can serious dickholes when they are drunk. For the most part they stick to midtown though so it shouldn't be an issue. Also, if at all possible, avoid the cab services in Gainesville. When they know it's going to be busy, they jack the prices, hard. Think $25 minimum ride no matter how far. Not to mention, if they can, they will straight up ROB you. Had it happen to bar customers more than once. IF you do take a cab, just be careful and pay attention. Honestly, unless you are staying at the Paramount, walk if you can. A walk is good for you and it might sober you just enough to not have an epic hangover the next day. Good Luck! DH3
