Gator Beverage - small liquor store near the holiday Inn, right in the middle of the "action" and has a great selection within their two aisles.
Swamphead Brewery - its out by the i75, but if you have free time definitely check it out!
Wards - grocery store with awesome selection. up on NW 23rd ave
Bars that have good stuff - Looseys, House of Beer, Alcove and the Top (I know I'm forgetting some, sorry)

I'm told Loosey's has exclusively American craft beers (okay, they have Pabst, Bud Light, and some other beer I can't remember the name of).
As for beer made in FL, Cigar City Brewing, based out of Tampa, has a tonnes of really good beers. I think my favorite of theirs is Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout, but I'm a sucker for extremely dark beers.
For a cheaper and more widely availabe beer made in FL, I'm a fan of Yuengling. Their lager is quite good, but I'm a bigger fan of their Black & Tan.

Tipple's on Tower Road is a package store with a good selection. Stubbie's is a bar on University that has a large international selection. Tall Paul's on south 2nd Ave has a decent amount of good beers as well although it can get douchey and loud with crappy jam bands. sharkie wrote: Alcove Closed. Jon

We carry: Cigar City (tampa), Swampahead (G'ville), Bold City (Jacksonville), Sweetwater (ATL - okay, not Florida, but you can't get it many places), and we are hoping to have Mile Marker (St Auggie) by then. We are also bringing in a ton of craft beer cans so our bar staff doesn't have to bother with the pesky *open bottle - pour into cup* bullshit. For package, Gator Bev and Loosey's as well. Yes, we can sell UNOPENED beer to go. DH3

I always think this place is surprisingly quiet during Fest.

I always think this place is surprisingly quiet during Fest. The owner of this place has publicly hated on Fest in previous years, not sureif it's the chicken or the egg there. I cooled considerably in this place when I was served an ice-cold Duchesse de Bourgogne some years back.

I second the Swamphead comment, If you can find the time its Def. worth it to go, but go early because the place fills up pretty quickly, im not sure of the hours but i went around 330-4ish and found a stool before they filled up, I reccomend Big Nose IPA if you are into that sort of thing...
also last year there was a little (large and spacious) beer hall down second on the way to Common Grounds or whatever the fuck it's called now, free pretzels and i think they said they homebrew some small batch stuff, but i could have just been drunk.

Gainesville House of Beer (Next to Stubbies on University) has 40 on draft and Alcove on Main (Next to Main Street Billiards) has a good selection.

I have not been keeping up with the board this year. I should have been asking people to bring me tasty stuff.
