I can do it and I'd like to help but to be honest I don't really want to do it because I wouldn't really feel comfortable, even wearing the special band or whatever. Is there some other way to contribute, Peej?

I won't be buying an upgrade but I'm down to donate during registration or something if there is a jar.

I'm for helping with whatever extra cash I can as well!! Get a few of those big ol water jugs and I will throw in 10 or 20 bucks. For all the hard work y'all go through for this to happen I'd be more than glad to. Also if somebody buys a VIP pass and feels bad using it.. why not try to find someone who could really us. Example anyone on crutches, any pregnant females.. I know they are few and far between but always tends to be some every year. Just saying. They could really probably use it.

I thinking of buying one. I've saved enough for Fest to spare the extra bucks and I plan on making the journey back in the future. I'm more than happy to fork out the extra to help out and increase the chances of future Fests. Though after reading some of the comments (more so on Facebook) I really don't know if it's worth it to be haseled for having the different wrist band or the occasional line cut.

At first I was thinking "Not bad, I guess I'll make sure to get into shows and help The Fest people." But then I had nightmares of dealing with everyone giving me a hard time for it!

What's 100 dollars in pounds? Like 65 quid or something? Not that much considering this whole thing is costing me near the 2 grand mark. Would rather just donate money though. As a young(ish) female going herself, I don't want to be killed and jumping a line is no way to make friends. 7 days until I fly out

Great, I was planning on having a nice weekend but as the toughest guy at Fest I guess it's my duty to beat up all the guys wearing these bands. Bummer.

As lame as the Fest Upgrade is I would hope no one would actually fuck with someone for their participation in it, but from what I hear... a few of the people who are defending it have no problem sending threatening emails, have attempted to hack someone's facebook account, & use insults such as "whore" to describe a woman they disagree with. Good going for confirming that nasty column that was about Fest in MRR a few months back! If it's a need for revenue to keep Fest going I am will to kick down some additional dough & it sounds like others are too.
I have a suggestion to cut cost, how about get ridding of a dinosaur band that's only contribution to music is lyrics that go like this "Old enough to bleed, old enough to breed, Old enough to pee then she's old enough for me, Let's fuck!"

I don't think anybody who bothers to queue up and wait to get into a show is going to be picking actual, physical fights, but yo, if I had a VIP pass I would rather that people fuck with me a bit if the alternative was uncomfortable silence... I am but a caveman, no fb account and haven't read mrr in 10 years, so I have no idea what you're talking about there... I, too, have a suggestion for cutting costs, it involves cutting preachy bands whos' entire repertoire consists of less-than-clever songs with predictable, beat-you-over-the-head-with-it messages about animal rights and religion. Orrrr......we could acknowledge that these bands provide an invaluable public service by drawing in enormous crowds, freeing up space at the smaller venues. Everybody's a sucker for one dinosaur or another, my dwarves is the next person's propaghandi....

I personally don't like the VIP passes, but I understand why they're doing them so I've got no beef with it. I really hope people stop making threats about these passes, cause I hope people buy them to help balance the budget. If people want to spend an extra $100 to make sure they can see every band they want, I'm not against it. If you don't want to spend that extra $100, either choose from the other 5+ awesome bands playing at the same time, or show up a little earlier to make sure you get in. I think the donation jar is a great idea. I also think if there is an after-party again this year, it'd be cool for the VIP passes to be allowed in. bignrich wrote: "Old enough to bleed, old enough to breed, Old enough to pee then she's old enough for me, Let's fuck!" - Dwarves I've never heard of this band before, and they aren't on my personal schedule, but that lyric is awful. I'm hoping it's sarcasm? Or one of those songs that's for something because the lyricist is really against it, like Oingo Boingo's "Little Girls"? Rasputin wrote: Orrrr......we could acknowledge that these bands provide an invaluable public service by drawing in enormous crowds, freeing up space at the smaller venues. Agreed. Some of the bigger bands also probably draw enough people to offset their cost. I know a few people who are only going this year because of Propaghandi.
