Piracy is slowing in the places that have legal and low-cost streaming services and a low-barrier-to-entry access to services.
I love Spotify and Grooveshark, because it's free for the listener but the artists still get money (well, they get about a penny per play, but still... it's better than nothing). Also, I'm fairly sure Grooveshark is actually based out of GNV. As people discover these new services, I see music pirating taking a sharp decline.
Actualy a totaly independent artist will get about .006 of one cent per play, but it's still better than nothing.
