So...I just watched the last installment of the Fest documentary and now I am terrified of standing in a 8 hour line...is the line on Friday like that all day long? If we get there early would we have better luck??
Thanks!

I did not wait i line for 8 hours last year. maybe 4 hours, but by no means 8 hours.
I wouldn't sweat it. Standing in line is a good time at Fest. You meet new people and they have people selling PBR tallboys to you while you wait in line. Shows don't start until late Friday afternoon anyway, so show up by noon and have a good time.

For once I'm not dreading lining up.
From what I've herd, it's like a massive conga line.

The early registration on Thursday will also alleviate some of that Friday line.

Also last year sold out super fast, whereas there are still tickets up for sale this year. So it shouldn't be as long of a line.

There are more tickets available this year though aren't there due to bigger venues and all that? Correct me if I'm wrong.

you are correct about there being more tickets available this year. Im not sure how this years tickets sold vs last years sold out numbers compare.
I arrived probably ten minutes before registration started last year and the line was already around the block. 4-5 hours is prob how long i stood in it.
Going to try to get there a little earlier this year.

I had planned on registering in the early registration Thursday this year. I heard that you will not be able to get your merch (ie Fest tshirt etc.) here though. Does anybody know when you will be able to pick it up without waiting in the long firday line?

The registration lines have gradually improved over the past several years, with new measures added each year to try to make them faster. Also, just because a line is long doesn't mean it doesn't move quickly.
Yeah, it's pretty fun as long as you aren't worried about missing a set that's starting soon. It's nice that they let you drink in the holiday inn parking lot.

sharkie wrote: just go to the merch pick up table instead of the registration line Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I thought you got your merch and your wristband at the same table because they use your ticket info to look up what shirts and stuff they also need to give you. At least that's how they did it last year.

im pretty confident early registration will make this line much more bearable. Not that it ever was unbearable.
