Sooo I am bringing my boyfriend to Fest for the first time. He's not into the heavier stuff. He loves Lucero, Ryan Bingham, other stuff towards alt country/americana. He likes good singer songwriters. He might like Andrew Jackson Jihad... and i'll take him to good luck, lemuria, mikey erg.. Looking for suggestions of other bands like that that I could take him to on the lighter side, more folk punk side? There are a ton of bands and I don't know them all so any help is much appreciated... He'll come to the heavier stuff with me but I want make sure he sees at least a few bands he likes.

the others aren't folk related but they are more straight up rock sounding bands with great singer/songwriter frontmen/women.

Larry and His Flask, Coffee Project, Greenland is Melting, and Frank Turner is doing a solo set (if your boyfriend tries to get in front of me, I will fight him Tim Barry. Kevin Seconds' solo set.

oh yeah Greenland Is Melting are great! a better version of the older sound of Avett Brothers. Also Whiskey & Co. would be worth checking out as far as Alt. country stuff goes.

Laura Stevenson and the Cans is about as light as it gets at Fest.

Shores. They do not sound like anyone else playing the Fest. It is refreshing.
