There's a couple parking lots right next to High Dive so you won't have a problem there. But for registration, you'll have to park a couple blocks away.

Why can't I park near high dive before registration? because you need the wristband to go to the parking? it's somehting like a Fest parking, for Fest users?

lol
you can park near high dive for registration but you'll have to walk a ways. there's like a half mile between registration (holiday inn) and where the mass of venues are.

Now that I think about it, you can park in the street at parking meters all along the road across from the Holiday Inn. As long as you pay the parking meter and don't stay inside the Holiday Inn longer than two hours, I don't see why you can't just do that when you go to registration. But, be careful, because I know people waited in line lasted year for MUCH longer than two hours. Just read the signs by the parking meters and do whatever is on them. There's also a parking garage near where most of the Fest venues are. It's $5 a day.

When you drive east on University Avenue toward the venues, you'll see a sign with a P on it hanging from a streetlight around 3rd Street. Turn right there and the garage will be about 50 meters on your left.

I'm pretty sure you can't park at the Holiday Inn or you'll get a boot (watched this happen to someone's car last year)
but I usually park in the downtown parking garage that's right in front of High Dive/near The Florida Theater
It's like a dollar an hour or something but stops at $6 then after 6pm (??? correct me if I'm wrong anyone) it's a flat $5 and on Sundays it's free
except last year I never got charged for parking in there all day Saturday.

jean wrote: Hey thanks for your answers, it will help! We stay at the econolodge university gainesville, it's 3 miles far from the holliday inn, I'm sure we can do this walking, but it would be awesome if I can park my park at 5-10 minutes from the venues, so I can put some stuff in between shows etc... Any ideas where to park? Also I don't want the car to trashed etc ... haha The econolodge is no way 3 miles from the holiday inn if you're talking about the one on SW13th street. It's less than two miles and and easy walk. I would leave your car there if I were you.

Do not park in a tow-away zone. You will be towed and your life will be miserable. Jon

Yeah but it's pretty close I got it off google maps. Its kinda hard to miss a 5 story parking garage.

I always used to park on the little street between Ayers med plaza and UTC/Wayward, its convenient to the holiday and errerythang else, plus its a pretty shady area (as in little direct sunlight) so my black ass hatch doesnt get to 159F in the time it takes to walk to the lab and back

The only barrier I can think of is at 8 Seconds. This is the first year Stereo is part of Fest, though, so idk what their stage is like. There's generally a lot of stage diving at Florida Theater of Gainesville. Security's usually pretty lax as long as you don't linger on stage or harass the band. I only ask that you don't go crazy with it. I don't mind crowd surfers, but the ones that jump off the top of the speakers and the ones that I see diving 7 times in the same set get under my skin. Just got out of a volunteer meeting. All of the big venues will have barriers this year.
