No punches for any reason, please. Don't come here and ruin shit for us. It's been ten years with no problems.... Try not to get your panties in a twist if someone's crowd surfing or trying to get to the front of the show or even if they're spilling beer on you. We are here to have fun... Not to see who is the toughes.

beer spilling barely even wipes the smile off my face... but people throwing full unopened tallcans in the air as high as they can deserve to get punched since they are already by proxy punching people on top of the head with 1lb objects. that shit at the florida theater last year was ridiculous..

It's not the beer spilling in itself, it's those self centred arseholes that think because it's a punk rock gig, it's fine to charge through the chilled bit of the crowd further back just to get up to the pit area for some song they like. If someone did that in a bar or a football game they would be taken care of. Why do they think just coz its a punk show it's ok to have zero respect for anyone!? Fuck 'em, they deserve whatever they get!

i agree, just a pick your battles sort of thing i suppose.. but head walkers and full beer can throwers should at least get a nice little "talkin' to..."

also on the annoying-but-not-worth-starting-a-fight list: spiked leather jackets and lit cigarettes in the pit..

and oh yeah.. this should answer OP's question about riotfest vs. Fest:

If I'm being repeatedly kicked in the head by crowdsurfers, I will try to punch them. I will not hold them up. I will try to pull them down or let them drop.

i just cant see getting in a fight for anything near the front or in the pit really ever - because you can move out of the way of all that. not excusing everything and im not saying sometimes it wouldnt be justified but if you go into it with that mindset its too easy to get into a fight and have an un-fun time at these type of shows.

people were throwing 6 packs of PBR during kid dynamite.. and not in a here have a beer sort of way.. like a raining from the sky sort of way. people that arnt even anywhere near the front had to have been getting popped in the head.

people talking about throwing punches? why are you all so uptight? haha feel free to jump on my head repeatedly if you are having trouble elsewhere. as long as you are having fun i'm all for it!

and if you're throwing full cans of beer you're an idiot, but i still won't throw a punch at you. because it's Fest and i'm going to be having more fun then anyone else. <3

Seriously what type of idiot throws a full can into the pit, I'm really surprised anyone can be that stupid. At Kid Dynamite please tell me they were not throwing them from the balcony, that could kill someone.

As for stage diving/crowd surfing I kind of find it quite annoying , we came to Fest to see the bands not someone getting up on stage again and again to jump on me, wanna get on stage? Start a band. I just pull them down or let them drop, Fest is not the place for punching people or starting fights.

If I'm honest I'm not actually gonna hit anyone without at least having a word or two first! I'm not one of those people that likes fighting at all...in fact quite the opposite. However, last year some guy violently barged through a quiet area from behind us all so no one saw him coming and knocked my friend ( a female that's quite little!) to the ground and hurt her shoulder then just carried on without a word. Lets just say if I had caught up with him, I wouldn't be giving him a pat on the back!

Actually stage diving is something I like to see as it adds to the vibe. I'm all for people going as nuts as they want down the front and if I'm close and someone spills from the pit and in turn spills my beer or a diver/crowd surfer lands on me then I feel it was my choice to stand so close so deal with it. As I've said though, it's the disrespectful violent idiots that cause trouble elsewhere I have a real issue with.

I should add for anyone that's not been before. In 6 years of going to Fest I haven't seen a single fight anywhere. All this talk of violent and irritating behaviour is really very few and far between. Please don't feel like you're entering a warzone as in actual fact it's the biggest friendliest party ever!
