Before you make the shirts I hope you check with PJ about copyrights and trademarks, not sure you can get away with making "The Fest 11" shirts. Might have to go with something that doesn't have anything Fest related printed on it.

Might have to go with something that doesn't have anything Fest related printed on it. Copy pasted from my response over on FB because I am lazy (I've gotten about 3-4 messages and responses expressing exactly your concern): "And yeah Mike messaged me about using anything official - I have no problems coming up with alternative logos and such if it is going to step on any toes. Not looking to turn a profit so the cheaper we can get it done the happier we'll all be. "To clarify; I only used that site as a medium for slapping together a visual aid while I was at work - I have no desire to order from there nor is the design set in stone - the cheaper we can do it the better." To paraphrase: There would be nothing official about them, I wouldn't be turning a profit, and of course if there are any concerns about copyrights and trademarks, etc, I can omit anything "Fest" related from them - I only included that on the preliminary design as a rough idea and because I think it would be rad if you could wear it outside of the context of Fest as a souvenir.TLDR; I get it, we need to hammer some shit out. We'll get it worked out and if we need to drop anything that would be too official or trademarked or whatever, it's not a problem. I am not married to the design or even the concept as I have stated previously. Appreciate the concern, though.

The general rule we use for this type of thing is: as long as you're not making money off of selling stuff with Fest on it, then it's fine.
Bands sell shirts with mentions of Fest on it all the time. This is cool. We basically are just trying to prevent someone from making some official looking Fest shirt or other merchandise and selling it for a profit. A joke shirt that doesn't have the official logo on it and is sold at cost should be fine.

greatest idea ever. And quick question. This will be my 6th year going to the Fest and I've never been able to figure out where some of the coozie slogans came from (i.e. party on squirrel friend and I've got bags on bags). I assume its something similar like this though. Anyone care to englighten?

I know last year it was the lyrics from Hot For Teacher by Van Halen but have no clue about any of the previous ones. I'd like to know too!

party on squirrel friend came from me and Tony hanging out by a pool drinking one day and our friend Bjorn shows up with this towel: http://imgur.com/YyQRd We thought it was funny. The bags on bags thing is from Tony being so exhausted by Fest work, his bags had bags... under his eyes. I guess. One of us thought that idea was pretty stupid. jcosta12288 wrote: greatest idea ever. And quick question.
