If I remember correctly, last year around july they sold whatever rooms were cancelled by people.

Is this correct? Does anyone else remember this?

Me too. My wife and I didn't think they'd sell out that quick. I've got a room at Americas Best on hold just in case but I'd really like to stay at the Holiday inn.

Fest really fucked over internationals looking to stay there this year. I'd love to get a cancelled room, but everyone had to settle for somewhere else!

fucked over? be grateful that Fest happens every year. Yeah there was some technology issues but Fest is about more than a hotel room.

Seriously, we should all feel pretty blessed (for lack of a better term) that Fest has somehow made it 11 years.

Also, if you were the one putting on Fest and everyone was bitching about how shitty x y z was this year, would you really feel like it was worth it to keep doing it? Exactly.

In fairness to this guy I can see where he's coming from but perhaps a wrong choice of words as it obviously wasn't intentional.

What I still don't get is why the problem didn't affect all international orders. I could be wrong but I suspect some credit card companies over cautious fraud protection measures could be as much to blame.
