I booked a ticket and a room at the paramount on the 20th, but now the paramount isn't listed in the hotel section when you're purchasing. anyone know what happened?

The Holiday Inn isn't on there either so I presume it sold out? If you got an email confirmation I'm sure it's all good

Sold out. Trying to persuade the Paramount to give us more rooms.

I cannot believe that both hotels sold out in 24 hours.

Nor me!! So glad and thankfull I've got a sofa to sleep on courtesy of a very kind local!! It certainly helps keep the cost down for sure!! Andy peej wrote: plague soundscapes wrote: I cannot believe that both hotels sold out in 24 hours. We can't either.

If I book a room directly from Paramount's website, will I be able to use the free shuttle to the airport and Holiday Inn?

Great, thanks! And how does the free shuttle works? Is it available all Fest weekend? Or just for the registration and airport return?

Great, thanks! And how does the free shuttle works? Is it available all Fest weekend? Or just for the registration and airport return? The van has certain hours of operation. If you get in late Thursday night like I did, chances are you might have to get a cab. On friday and saturday the van runs later, of course, than it does Thursday and Sunday. I don't remember exactly what the hours were, but they will let you know. You can also shoot them an email if you have any general questions and they will respond, give them a couple of days. It isn't like your personal taxi or anything, but for me, it was available pretty much every time I needed it. At the beginning of the day when theres a steady flow of people leaving the hotel, the bus probably leaves once every 15 or 30 minutes, give or take? That isn't all day, though, of course. If you need it sometime during the day (although I don't think they advertise this point, and for all I know it won't be this way again this year) you can call the front desk, ask them nicely for a ride, and they will oblige you. Like I said, the guy last year was really cool and he dropped me off where I asked, but the "standard" drop off/pick up point is the Holiday Inn. Later at night he makes his rounds again and I always just hung around the HI until I saw him. All of this being said, this really is a huge favor they offer people and I felt obligated to tip the driver several times over the weekend. Sure he was just doing his job, but they went above and beyond what I expected them to do and made my Fest much more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise.
