Hi y'all. So last year I put together a schedule/map app for Android for our beloved Fest. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thefestfl.androidI'm gonna update it for this year, and I hope to add some new features-- the big things on my list are notifications when a show on your schedule is happening, and maybe a more Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich-tailored version-- but I wanted to start a thread for people to talk about what did/didn't work, what could be improved, and what you'd like to see in the app. Obviously I can't fulfill everyone's requests, but I'd like to make this thing as useful as it can reasonably be! I'll probably also post some "beta" versions as APK files in here, for the brave souls who would want to give this bad boy a try as I add shit. I mostly promise I won't break your phones.

Thanks so much for this. I was pretty jealous of the iphone owners for once at Fest a couple of years back. Looking forward to trying this out.

Could someone link or tell me the name of last years apps? That way I know what to look for when the new one comes out.

There were links posted to both apps here and on the main Fest site for Fest 10, though, so I imagine you'll be pointed at it properly when the time comes.

There was definitely still that bug going on when you did an update and all your highlighted bands became random. I'm guessing it was some kind of database / ID thing where all the bands were given new IDs, but the bands on My Schedule were still using the old IDs or something. It would be super-cool if you could fix that for this year.

(by Fest weekend it was up to 1.2.1). Anyway, the bug isn't in the code the Fest 11 version will be based on, so everything should go smoothly from the get-go this time around!

Anyway, sorry about that! But yeah, it's definitely sorted this time out, unless I fuck something up big time, haha.

John, I am greatly looking forward to this year's Android app. I got so much use out of mine last year and told every Droid-using Fest goer I knew about it.
