Yeah you know what this is let's start compiling a list of the awesome places scattered about downtown.
I'll start with Harvest Thyme cafe, which a whim choice because everywhere else we wanted to go was a long wait. The people behind the counter were super nice and the food was delicious and super loaded with veggies and I felt really good after eating it until I found out that I had just missed the secret Menzingers set.
OK NOW YOU

AAaaaand FLACOS, this is important, Two sides of the shop, Sammiches, and Tacos, if i happen to be there ordering a Cuban Gator (try this) go wait in the taco line... Vegan/Veggie friendly if you swing that way and beers/coffee. everything here is delicious and the secret ingredient is crack. Next awesome place to eat please...

This is always my favorite part of the Fest.
Flacos and 5 Star Pizza.
It's really a shame that Gator Dawgs closed down after last Fest I always ate there Multiple times throughout the weekend.
I try to eat as little "Chain" restaurants as possible during Fest weekend. I always try to eat at the local places.

Tacos Locos...
awesome taco cart on South Main Street and 2nd Ave. Always new, awesome tacos, nachos, and other stuff when they feel like it. Definitely worth it, tacos are like $3... sometimes they have a pizza taco.
Last Fest they tried doing some veggie options but i think they didnt sell that well... so who knows if theyll do that again... but if you eat meat.. go here.

glad I'm local so I don't have to be disappointed when all the awesome restaurants are too busy for me to get anything on Fest Weekend.

Reggae Shack makes the best smoothies. I drank one twice (up and down) Sunday morning during Fest 9 thanks to FestAids. Delicious both directions.

Last year was my first Fest and I've thought about tacos from Flacos and Boca probably at least twice a week since.
Karma Cream is like a vegan dream come true. Awesome sandwiches, too.

Am I the only one who thinks 5 Start is dreadful? But even dreadful pizza isn't too bad. And it's filling. Leonardo's had some pretty good pizza, and the wait wasn't unbearable; it was out the door, but moved rather quickly. The food truck outside Double Down got most of my business, had some really good tacos, and a pumpkin pie empanada that hit the spot. Boca Fiesta is pretty good...if you have a lot of time to spare. I'm also bummed that there won't be Gator Dawgs this year

Reggaeshack makes great everything. I had one of the best burgers I've ever had in my entire life from there, and I'm a huge burger connoisseur
Boca Fiesta is also absolutely out of this world
I wasn't a fan of Gator Dawgs. Not sure how many New Yorkers there are replying or viewing this thread, but the place reminded me a lot of this place on St Marks called Criff Dogs which I never thought was too great. I'm not heartbroken that Gator Dawgs closed

Oh yeah, theres this little pizza place with a nice patio down 2nd street, Lou's i think it was, Bangin' NY style pizza and great place to chill and drink something other than a tallboy.
Also if you are feeling adventurous, i remember the Chop Stix cafe down by Lake Alice, if you are from out of town and have never seen an Alligator this is probably the best way to go about doing that (Or go out to Paynes Prairie, but chopstix is closer on 13th)
