After considerable debate, and weighing in last years experience i have decided to book a room in the back of my car again for Fest 10. The pros include lodging expenses for the weekend of under 30 dollars, saving me many dollars i can now use for booze, food, merch, also with sleeping in a car without A/C, the need to set an alarm before passing out is nullified, as the heat of the day typically rouses me awake by the time i need to be doing things of a festly nature. however, the cons of this very fun and adventurous approach to vacationing are that the availability of certain civilized comforts become extremely scarce, such commodities as a daily shower, or place to shave (i look terrible with a beard) or brush ones teeth are solid gold for someone wishing to remain hygenic throughout a weekend of sweating, drinking, smoking, and other such things that diminish his personal cleanliness. so my offer to you good festers is compensation for use of your sink and shower so i do not smell like shit in the back of my shitbox toyota. PM me to arrange something, beers, cash, funny stories, etc...

I'll have a Days Inn room, so water and power are free as far as I'm concerned.

I thought it was mean that you admit to dropping crowd-surfers. I've always been, "Hey, they're just having a good time. It's their way of enjoying the show. Why hate?" Until I went to Warped Tour in St. Pete a couple weeks ago. It was friggin' mid-90s, noon, summer in South Florida standing around while the sun rubs its brutal heat all over your skin. I'm enjoying some Against Me! standing way too close to a bunch of hormonal, sweaty 17-year-old boys when the crowd-surfers start. I got one shoe to the eye and snapped. My turn came to pass him along and all I could think was, "I just want you to frickin' die." I grabbed his arm and pulled him to the ground. It was grassy so he was fine, but it was just too hot for that mess.

Thanks guys, i promise i wont be too much of a nuisance. last year the guy i was supposed to stay with bailed on me when i got down to gvile thurs night, so i slept in my car and the habit just kind of stuck, the only downside was i was shaving in my car with a bowl of water and a cd as a mirror, changing in front of passerby satisfied my exhibitionist nature, and i only managed to find a shower the tuesday after Fest when some stranger i met at a techno club said i smelled like Fest and offered to let me use his shower if i would play him in super smash bros. the irony is that i asked several people i was hanging with at Fest if they had a shower i could use, they all said yes, i was just too wasted to realize it at the time. either way, going the homeless route is like punk rock summer camp, i love camping, and i love punk, so its a smelly win win for me.

Can I piggyback on this thread and also request a shower? I'll be sleeping in my car again and a place to bathe, that isn't the Holiday Inn pool, would be really swell.

I've been living out of my truck for about 5 months now. Getting showers is never really a problem though. Couchsurfing.org takes care of that need. I did get a room at the Holiday Inn with friends for the Fest though so if you get desperate for a shower... 925-956-8666 -Rob

Staying at the gainsville lodge thursday-monday. No problem with giving out showers, water from the tap, etc. etc. 239-281-9571 or just wave down the fat drunk guy in the parking lot and I'll be more than happy to help anyone out.
