Is there a good place to hang out and drink beer that has line of sight to The Venue? That's open kind of early afternoon?

you mean where you can see the line in front of the venue? probably just durty nellys which is part of the Fest again.. there is a pool bar in between 8 seconds and the venue, but you can't see the line...

yup, that's what I thinking. I want to see SBB but don't want to waste an afternoon standing around either. Durty Nellys sounds like a plan, hopefully they are open earlyish. Thanks

accroding to the schedule durty nellys officially opens at 6pm.. then Flacos is definitly the best choice (and only) choice, but I don't think they serve beer... but try their sandwiches, they are awesome....

just remembered: in the end even forget wtaching the line, cause it normally goes around the block for the first band... judging from the last fests: my guess it takes around 20-25 min from the corner of the block till your in

Flacos does have beer.

But if you wanna see SBB, really I would get in line ASAP. By time they open the doors, the line will be around the block, and it will move slowly, so you wanna be near the front of it to see the first band.

They really should open the doors 2 hours before the first band.

I want to see Samiam, but not fussed about SBB. Reckon I'll be OK getting to the venue just before 7?

Anyone think Flacos will be packed on thursday night? i feel like thats my best chance of getting a Cuban Gator without a massive line, though, the last few times ive been to Gainesville Flacos has been elusive in their hours... nothing like walkng shithammered from the UC in pants that dont fit only to find Flacos closed...

Flacos finally got a website, so you can scope out their hours http://www.flacosgainesville.com/ (and yes, I have showed up to Flacos at 5:00 on a Tuesday to be disappointed as well)

I would not expect it to be too busy on Thursday, at least not until the bars start letting out.

I bet they run out of them quick, but their new tacos are pretty awesome.
