I'm Deeker and I'll be turning 29 on the Saturday night of Fest. I come from the east coast of Scotland and will be coming over with a bunch of troops to attend our friends' wedding on Halloween at the No Idea House. This is also my first time and I'm ready to bring the cowpunk madness to the USA for the first time in over ten years.

My band UNIFORMS (www.facebook.com/weareuniforms) are playing pre-fest at the Wayward Council on the Thursday night. To say we're stoked would be the understatement of the century. We are friends with the dudes in Spanish Gamble and The Riot Before and are very much looking forward to meeting up with everyone.

Come say "awrite pal".

I already posted in the social network thread, but I guess I'll post here too. I'm Bill, i'll be heading down to the Fest this year for the first time. My girlfriend and her little sister are coming down as well. My girlfriend and I are 24, the little one, 21 (she also has a crazy crush on the singer of the flatliners, if anyone can hook that up!).

We're pretty down to earth people. I'm a school teacher, the misses works at Vanguard, and the sister is still working hard at school. We're all from the philadelphia area and because of that have much love for all of our hometown bands. Basically we'd like to have the best time possible: catch as many shows as possible, gorge ourselves on pizza and cheese fries, and hangout with as many great people as we can.

Hmm, what else... We're staying at the Holiday Inn. I used to run a site (that I may or may not update with videos after Fest) that interviewed punk bands (http://www.pmpdblog.com), I haven't done anything with it since I got a full time job though.

The Flatliners guys are all cool as fuck. Tell her to just go up and talk to them. They won't be dicks, I promise. I'll play wingman if she needs.

My name's Olivia.. I'm 17 and have lived in Gainesville most of my life. Even though I can't get the full experience (because of my age) I'm pretty stoked!

I'm pretty sure I'm the youngest but please correct me if I'm wrong.

I am 17 too. If by not getting the full experience you mean your unavailability of getting into the shows then you can fix that. If you have one of your family members notarize a letter for security, you will be able to attend the shows. I was 15 when I went to Fest 8 and got into all the shows I wanted to go to. You are going to need an older person going with you. Make sure you have a guardian or something. Hope that helped a bit

Im pretty sure she meant pounding down PBR and High Fiveing people and buying strangers drinks, i don't think a notarized letter can help you there, but theres always Fest 14 or 15... But dont fret over not being able to get beer and please dont try to get any through alternative channels at the shows, not only will it screw your Fest experience if you get caught, but you could also endanger some clubs liquor licenses, which makes everyone angry. but have a blast, plenty of people dont drink at all at Fest and remember it all more clearly.

The name's Shanna. I'm coming down from Charlotte, NC with my friend Kimmie. This is my first Fest, so everyone should buy me a beer and give hugs.

Yeah I pretty much meant a little of both.. And trust me, I won't. I wouldn't wanna mess somethin up for everyone. But uh, would it be possible if I got a random person to say they're my stepdad or something to get into 18+?

Well, this is what I did. I have a cousin who lives in Gainesville and he is 25, also a friend of mine from Texas is going and she is 20 or so I don't know haha. What we did was just make a letter for security to read letting them know that I was under my cousin's custody. Then we notarized the letter to make it look real legit. That's how I am going to get into the shows. Fortunately, I am Straight Edge and I don'y have to care about booze :D

But yeah, I guess that if you are with a guardian without a notarized letter or something, you will get into the shows check out this thread viewtopic.php?f=34&t=20602&view=unread#unread I would do that if I was you. Good luck on getting beer!

That's a good idea, thanks :)
And like I said, I don't want to get in trouble or get anyone else in trouble so I won't even be attempting to drink at Fest.

I'm Connor. This will be my fourth Fest. Went to 6 7 and 8. I will be driving down with my best friend Paul from Minnesota, picking up my brother in Lexington KY, hitting up Tampa for Pre-Fest, and then picking up my brother's fiance Friday morning so we start the Fest weekend with everyone.

We have slept in our cars every year previously but have a place to crash this year which is totally amazing. Can't wait. Also my first Fest where I can drink in the venues. Pretty pumped for that. WOOT!
