Hi
We're coming from Belgium and we're going to Miami by car after The Fest. Would it be smart to rent a car for the weekend of The Fest? It would be pretty stupid to rent a car if there's no parking space anywhere near the venues. Thanks for any help.

there is garage parking downtown, right near the venues.
last i heard, it costs $5/day, free on sunday

only if you're staying there, do not park at the McDonalds behind it that is a guaranteed tow.
For holiday inn/registration, I would just say park in one of the free spots near SW 2nd AVE, or in the neighborhood near 6th Street and just walk. Roam Towing is crazy in Gainesville, best advice I can say is IF you think its questionable - move your car.

Where are you flying into? If you're flying straight into Gaineseville, I wouldn't bother renting a car until Monday, the 31st. That way you won't have to worry about paying for a car you're not using and parking.
