I've made about 10 batches of IPA, usually with some rye in there.
1 batch of Porter
1 batch of brown ale

but it's been almost two years since my last batch. I was too busy for about a year, then I moved into this place with not enough space (and I've been low on cash).

cool, i've been brewing pale ales, experimenting with the recipe, they are like the most common type of beer they teach you in books and on the web, but now im ready for more, i've read a ton of websites, a book, and about to finish reading a second book, i want to try my first IPA, i was going for a stout but a friend of mine asked me if i could make a batch for his birthday and told me he is more into IPA's, i don't have a favorite beer style, so i don't mind changing my from stout to making a batch of IPA

I never brew IPA this time of year. Sure, they go great with the hot weather, but the hops will be SO much fresher in a couple months.

actually, that might be a good experiment. Make some IPA now, be sure to save a few bottles, then make another batch using the same recipe when the new 2011 hops are harvested. Drink the two bottles side by side.

I've only made three batches so far: a brown ale, wheat, and low gravity stout.

None of them have been anything great, but it's still a lot of fun (albeit a decent amount of work). I really want to make an Imperial Stout, but would love to make an IPA as well. Though autumn is coming up and I'd love to make a pumpkin beer, too!

Good luck with the IPA! Let us know how it turns out.

My boyfriend just brought me some copper brown ale and golden wheat that his dad made. Looking forward to trying it when I get home from work tonight.

Im thinking of Buying 3 5gal Carboys and converting my bandspace into a brewery because we dont really need that much space for our stuff, Anyone have a rough idea of how much i will be spending for decent equipment and ingredients (extract method)? i currently have no equipment..

most kits are around 150dllrs which include most of the equipment you'll need for an extract batch, and extra carboys are around 30dllrs each. Breawing with extract is a little more expensive than going all grain, but it's the easiest way to start, depending on the beer you are making you can spend between 40dllrs - 70dllrs with extract, but i think that depends on the prices of your local brewing supply store

I don't know why anyone would ever do all extract, it's so easy to do a partial mash, and you get WAY more flexibility and control over various flavors/colors that way.
