Anyone have any sort of information about who might be playing what? The schedule has one slot in particular in all capital letters like its something special. I'm just worried about going to see one band and missing out on something I would much rather see, that is not being advertised this year (ie. Kid Dynamite).

Someone posted that it wouldn't be one of the big headliner type bands (HWM, small brown bike, Against Me! etc.), so I doubt kid dynamite is the mystery band since that would be pretty huge. I'd guess kid dynamite could be playing the Holiday Inn show or maybe a surprise during the None More Black/Paint It Black block, or a house/warehouse show late night - if they play at all. The Fest site also says mystery bands are playing at other times in the weekend already, also implying it won't be an unannounced band. Who knows, though, in the end. It also seems unlikely that KD would be playing one of the mystery spots on Friday, since Lifetime is playing pretty close to those timeslots, except for the late night CMC show. Saturday is possible but still pretty tight with Armalite playing until 3 then None More Black coming on at 7:30. 4 hours is doable, but with running gear between venues, etc. seems kinda unlikely. If they're sharing amps/drums and just running guitars, though, it's definitely possible.
They did say they would post the mystery bands in the morning via twiiter, etc. so if you're paying attention, you should be able to figure out who's playing what in plenty of time.
I'm thinking Tim Barry could be one of the smaller venue mystery bands. Hoping he plays an after show or something at least, since I think I'm going to Paint it Black instead.

I'd like to think that maybe Chuck Ragan is the mystery band at CMC that Friday night. I mean it's after HWM and all the other main bands have already played

From what I've been told Loma Prieta is playing tampa prefest wednesday, most of their members are in Punch and the rest will be with Punch, so that is possible and would be really cool. I have more money on Paint It Black, since it's supposedly bigger bands that want to play smaller venues and they are one of the only bands that even fits that bill that isn't playing that show.

Hear you, I also heard that Paint It Black might play a warehouse show with None More Black, Lifetime, Armalite, Kid Dynamite, and others. It was said here on the board. But yeah either Paint It Black or Loma Prieta would be great. I would prefer Loma since I am seeing PIB on Saturday with Dillinger Four and Loma isn't coming to DFW. I think that Loma will be one of these "secret" bands that will play The Fest just like Kid Dynamite, Last Call, and Strike Anywhere? But it's a rumour that's more than likely going to happen so yeah. All I know about Fugazi is that they are playing one of the Pre Fest. I would say the Tampa one if I am not mistaken? If Fugazi is playing that Kid Dynamite show, then I guess that I am bringing an extra pair of pants tehehe
