Anyone going?
I've never been but bought a weekend pass for this year. It doesn't sound as homey and rad as Fest, but I'm looking forward to a good time.

more than a few bands on there I'd love to see, but there's no way I can make the trip. I'm spoiled living in Fest city.

Gainesville and Louisville are about equidistant from where I'm living now.

However, that will change when I move back to sunny Fla. this summer and then Lord willing (please please please) get accepted to a grad program at UF in education.
I'm worried I have unrealistic expectations about how awesome it will be to live in Gainesville. But I've been living in the Deep South for almost five years so just about anywhere in Florida would be a step up from that.

ha, yeah, Gainesville is not like Fest all the time.

if you wanna know what a typical show schedule in Gainesville looks like, keep an eye on http://www.gainesvillebands.com/shows.asp

also, there is not constant partying, but you can find some if you try.

I've been to Gainesville a bunch of times outside of Fest and liked what I saw. I grew up about two hours southeast of there and had friends who went there.

I'm not really interested in moving to a place with a serious party scene (read: I don't drink). But I probably won't be moving there unless I get into school there and I won't find out about that for a while.

I like how this discussion converted into something complete unrelated to Krazy Fest.

I might be adventuring to it, depends on a couple things that I'm waiting to hear back on
I kind of want to go to see some friends more than catch bands as I know I'll see most of them at Fest anyways

With the exception of the pervasive misogyny, KF was fun.
Almost all the after-shows were at strip joints and I'm not going to apologize for having a low opinion of guys who think a good time is expecting a woman to crawl like a dog after a $1 bill.

HWM, AM!, 7 Seconds, The Bouncing Souls, Dave Hause and Lucero absolutely slayed. It wasn't as fun as Fest, but it was still a good time.

Jeez there is so much love and awesome in the room when Hot Water plays.
And Kevin Seconds is freaking 50 and still brings it. Right the frick on.

Couldn't tell you, I wasn't there.
From what I read on Twitter there was one dancer on stage, but she left after the show started. The Fest was held in an expo hall/flea market-type place in a terrible part of Louisville. Nothing but strip clubs, liquor stores, sex shops and barred-window gas stations for a mile in both directions.

The funny thing was the club advertised them as Dane :D

No there wasn't stripping during any of the bands. Apparently it's now illegal in Louisville (possibly all of Kentucky) for strippers to get naked. One of them danced around for a little bit during Self Defense Family (End of a Year) but once Fireworks started and people started getting rowdy she left the stage. This was also one of the smallest strip clubs on earth packed full, it was ridiculous.
