The Jones is pretty close to my apartment but I have yet to go there. I guess I'll have to try it out soon.

The Jones is awesome. I would go more often if it weren't for their cash only policy

Checks too. At least half the checks I write are to The Jones.

Closed from what I understand.

If I'm wrong, I blame Jeremy.

OP (original poster) - there is always a thread about this every year, but, just read the guidebook when you pick it up at registration during Fest. They have a listing of restaurants in town and what has veg/vegan options!

Gainesville has so much good vegan/veg food it amazes me and I crave it every year.

From what I heard, their business tripled overnight after they announced they were closing. Pretty fucking cool.

It was ALL about Reggae Shack at Fest 8. So good. I know my friends went back last year and just said "surprise us" as their order and got a sweet meal and beers and stuff for $15. Definitely the best way to order.

I remember someone in there telling us how much more they turnover on Fest weekend than the rest of the year.

Agreed. Reggae Shack is the jam.

Haha I was the "surprise me" table's server. They were my favorites!

We get soooo busy during Fest. It's the most awful/tiring yet most fun weekend all year at work.

I would not be at all surprised if they (plus me this time) come back to do it again.

Haha! Our 'Surprise Us' meal was incredible. Definitely never laughed that much during a meal before.

If you go to Reggae Shack, make sure you get a smoothie too. I never had one before last year, then went for a mango one. Its bigger than my head and fucking delicious.

Also, I hope Boca Fiesta doesn't run out of food this year. They did two days in a row last year so I didn't get to eat :(

Aside from the bands, the food is one of my favourite things at Fest. There are so many Veggie options in Gainesville. I might try and make a rule to not eat anywhere more than once... although I say that now but Leo's is my weakness.
