Descendents Hot Water Music Ann Beretta Against Me! Ted Leo + the Pharmacists Gaslight Anthem Leatherface Samiam Snuff Seaweed Naked Raygun Bouncing Souls Bear vs. Shark Lifetime New Mexican Disaster Squad Baroness Marked Men the Holy Mountain Beltones Chixdiggit Against All Authority the Holy Mess Lucero Army Of Ponch Planes Mistaken For Stars The Ergs! Drag The River Avail Gunmoll Twelve Hour Turn Teenage Bottlerocket Har Mar Superstar Coalesce Valient Thorr Torche Whippersnapper None More Black Chinese Telephones Scared Of Chaka Pezz Radon

After the three days of yawn that was last year's Fest I would hope to see these bands next year:
Arcwelder DYSE the Fall Future of the Left Federation X Obits David Grubbs Vaz Big Business Versus Grinderman Bonny Price Billy
I realize most of you might be confused by bands that don't stick to the banal sing-along three chord regurgitation that is commonly the Fest but I think it is about time to get back to the good old days of Fest variety.

Jon If you don't like it then don't go.

Scott and Charlie are way too busy with Anthrax, Billy now's in a Canadian metal band called Mastery, and Danny still has Brutal Truth and Nuclear Assault and who knows what else. I remember seein' M.O.D. on a Fest flier one year, though...would've been great if they did play, they would have tore up the place. Oh, yeah...also, I think there's still video of Billy doing "United Forces" with Municipal somewhere. Sounds like it's good stuff...

Jon If you don't like it then don't go. I don't like the direction politics are headed in this country either. Does that mean I should leave? I view the Fest as a community, not three days of shows. I go because I get to see friends I don't normally see. And because I am usually working, helping out, or playing. I am sorry if my desire for a bit more variety bothers you. These horrible bands that have an increasing presence already have the Warped Tour and other monstrosities; I am only hoping for a bit more return to the original form of the Fest. Jon

I also view the Fest as a community. And this is the type of music that this community likes and plays. I'm sorry if you don't feel that there is enough variety. I feel that there is a wide variety of bands that play the Fest but they probably aren't in genres that you like. If you don't like the bands, don't go to the shows. Your friends will still be in town and you can still hang out with them.

Your friends will still be in town and you can still hang out with them. So you are saying that folks in a community can't like different types of music? Well then, I would not like to be a part of that community if that is the way it truly is. It is not. I guarantee that there are many people that are closely involved in and play the Fest that would like very much to see a wider variety of bands. I am not an idiot, I know what type of music brings in the masses. I was just voicing my opinion that we mix things up a bit. The first few fests had a much wider variety of bands. Is that such a bad thing? If I can sit through 143 band that ape D4, None More Black, and Propagandhi badly, you can sit through 30 minutes of one of the bands I listed. Jon

Marbs: You should've hung out at 8 Seconds Friday night if you didn't. That should've been up your alley if that's what you're arguing about. It really does have variety. I just don't think you're looking hard enough.
