I am planning on flying from New Jersey actually doing the drive the last few times. I rather pay money and not lose two days of my vacation time than drive.

My question is where is the closest airport? And how much would a taxi cost to get to Gainesville? Thanks guys! Hope to have a blast again this year.

Gainesville (GNV) is the closest airport. Taxi downtown would probably be $15-25 but I can't remember exactly.

Alternatively fly into Jacksonville or Orlando as both airports have a shuttle bus to Gainesville.

If you fly in to GNV and happen to be staying at the HI, they have a free shuttle in both directions. You just call up the hotel when you land, or ask at the front desk a little while before you need to get back. Never had to wait more than 20 minutes coming in, think I remember a bit of a delay on Monday afternoon when everyone is leaving.

we flew from jersey last year into jacksonville then got the runways shuttle into gainsville for like 40 dollars or some shit its was like a 90 minute ride. it worked out well tho i found it hard to find a flight from jersey to gainsville that was available or reasonable priced so we went with jacksonville there were other festers on the shuttle we got shitfaced as all hell on the ride
