do you have a specific field you are looking for or just whatever will give you a paycheck? either way it's usually not great although like darcee said you can usually get into survey lab or copytalk I know Janeen has shown me a website that lists all available jobs in Gainesville, just can't remember the link right now

I was unemployed for almost a month until yesterday. I just started reallllly applying for jobs a week or two ago and I've already landed one at Reggae Shack so I guess it just depends on your experience and what you're looking for.

zachubbell wrote: how is the job market down there? Blowzzz chunkzzz, but there are little niches to fall into if you persevere, are lucky, and/or have specialized skills. The market for jobs requiring any sort of degree is stupid cut-throat, because there are so many well-educated, over-qualified tag-alongs who've followed a significant other who's scored a job here, and for some reason they don't have to good sense to lay around the house watching soaps and smoking dope and skimming off their working partner. Go figure. Personally, I wouldn't move here from somewhere else without a job offer or some connections, or if I did, I'd be ready to cut and run if something came up somewhere else, or nothing came up here. Then again, my brother moved here and landed an HVAC job inside of a few days, so, like I said, it depends a whole lot on what you're qualified for and/or looking for.

LittleJohn wrote: zachubbell wrote: how is the job market down there? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA It is a climate in which people are dumbing down their resumes, removing their masters and advanced education or extensive experience b/c they are so overqualified for the jobs they are applying for, but don't want to seem overqualified so they can get a foot in the door. So, each job gets like 100+ applications. Only a handful of people get interviews. Its rough.
