Hopefully going to make it! Technically not from the UK, but living here at the mo...

unfortunate thing is I have to hand my passport in to the home office to renew my visa, so I can't book until i've got the thing back... i'm really hoping it's sooner rather than later!

sooo excited... plus i'll be getting a one-way ticket, good bye ol' blightey!

Are you a US citizen? If not I wouldn't try and enter the US on a one way ticket as I suspect you'll run into real problems if you don't have a flight out of the country booked in advance.

ahh I shoulda been more specific - headed back to new zealand on a one-way ticket, with US as a stopover...

thanks for looking out for me though!

i've put it in the thread on punktastic, but i'll put it here too. air canada are doing flights for about £385 from heathrow to orlando at the moment, it's on the sta travel website.

ignore this, i was taken in by clever advertising and false taxes.

got stung by them last year!

cheeky monkies!

I'm going again this year. Trying to sort out travelling a bit down the East coast for two weeks beforehand, but if that gets too complicated I'll stick to basics.

Anyone got any advice for travelling down the East coast?

So are Calvinball. It would be good to bump into a few of either's shows but I don't want to risk organising around shows yet.

i've been looking at driving down the east coast. it would be amazing to hire a camper and just drive through all the big cities, and along the atlantic coast properly.

How serious are you about doing this and over what time period? We already have plans to go to LA pre-Fest but we haven't booked flights yet so it could be worth considering if we could fit it in with our plan.

i'm definitely up for it. i can actually afford the cost and time off work this year, so will be able to do it. probably something like 2 weeks, going new york down to gainesville. ian's up for it if he can get the money together, and i think someone else i know is. i had a look for hiring an rv, for a 5 berth one, it'd be about £1000 for 2 weeks on a one way hire, which isn't too bad if we had a full rv.

wow if i knew you i would totally be begging to jump in on that, shame!

i've just started doing some looking around at flights but as i've not fully decided what i want to do before/after it's making it difficult to look properly. plus i'm totally shit at organisation. (this will be my first Fest).
