Damn near everybody hawks some kind of vegan food in Gainesville. 5-Star will have vegan slices for sale right in their parking lot.

If you're broke there is a Taco Bell across the street from 1982 as well. By Boca Raton I think you meant Boca Fiesta? Reggae Shack is pretty great too. HAH yes I do. That's what I get for multitasking.

The vegan/vegetarian food in Gainesville is seriously what I look forward to most at Fest, bands and hangs aside. Karma Cream was such a nice addition I never ate Gator Dawgs till last year and I was impressed with their veggie/vegan dogs! Goal this year: try El Indio.

El Indio is good, but a little overpriced for the amount of food you get. If I could afford it I'd probably eat a tempeh burrito every day.

I hear Reggae Shack get a lot of compliments. I've been meaning to try it the past couple years, but the line is always so long and there's no time to mess around at Fest. I want to try seitan because I like the hail seitan t-shirt I saw, but I'm wary of vegan food because it always gives me righteous shits, which is not a good thing to have when walking about in Gainesville.

Shit is mindblowing. 1/2-1/2 tempeh/tofu scramble is where it's at. Never had it on the hearty though (never thought about subbing the eggs since i'm not vegan). I'll defintely have to give that a try next time i'm over there.

I'll defintely have to give that a try next time i'm over there. I NEED TO TRY THIS. I heard last year that Bagels Unlimited has some vegan options but never went. Now that I know they have tofu/tempeh scramble, I must go. I'm only vegetarian but I dislike eggs, so I love me some great tofu scramble. I love and swear by Reggae Shack but, again, its a hot spot during Fest so lines and waits for food are generally long. When I'm not doing anything/watching bands for a while or there's a considerable gap in my schedule is usually when I pencil in my Reggae Shack time. Last year was hectic so the only times I went were Thursday before the pre-Fest show at 1982 (ONLY time I've ever gone in and not waited long), Friday night at some point and then after Samiam finished on Sunday because of their extended Fest hours.

I can't remember when they remodeled Reggae Shack... was it pre- or post-Fest 8? Anyways it's twice as big now, bigger menu, an a litttttle bit faster. Guava smoothie is the hangover annihilator.

Guava smoothie is the hangover annihilator. It was pre-fest 8 and they also have a larger beer selection now. I've gotten the mango smoothie every time i've gone lately, i'll have to try the guava one next.
