What doesn't make sense to me us why have bands that have a somewhat large fan base (such as ruiner, coalesce, dear landlord etc etc) play at CGs or 1982? Even outside of Fest those bands draw large numbers so why not put them at a bigger space? I agree with with whoever posted above about avoiding it all together. I was so bummed last year after waiting forever to be stopped like 5 people short and missing Ruiner that this year I won't subject myself to such heartbreak.

i'm wonder how many venues will be used this year.. less is good if you hate walking between them but then more eases the pressure on the queues. Obviously the guys know what they're doing more than any of us, but still, fingers crossed that there isn't too many tough decisions!

I think the main point is that they miss another 500 - 700 cap venue, something that is bigger than CG, so they could take the pressure out a little.

Yeah, that's definitely the thing. What sucks is that they used to have one right across the street from The Venue, but I guess whoever is running that space now isn't interested in participating.

that would be just perfect... a short walk and some of the bands that play CG into that one, some of the atlantic ones maybe in CG and then it would be way easier... I just love to change venues... seeing all day bands I just need the different clubs , vibe, the walks over the street with a short stop at five star pizza, running into different persons.. thats what the efst is for me... but of course there are bands I just can't miss and for whom I rather wait in line/ camp at a venue...

Yeah, Abbey Road, right? I remember seeing Lifetime/None More Black/Fifth Hour Hero/Dead to Me there during Fest 5. What a great night that was.

Goes without saying, but having that space available would make things SO much easier for everyone.

Oh, we'd figure out something. This is a message board, after all.

I don't think it could really be helped - as people as said it's the perfect place to just hang out. If you're desperate to see a band there just make sure you get there two bands early I reckon.

Plus, it's not just CG that had a problem of having bands that were too popular - The Atlantic on Friday for The Menzingers/Nothington/PBC was just bursting.

i think part of the problem last year, with common grounds especially, over previous Fests is that they put too many bands with the same fans at the same venue. if you have the measure (sa) and lemuria playing at the same time as opposed to playing the same venue on the same day, you're going to divide the crowd, force festgoers to run around more, and if they can't get into one or both then going into another venue and seeing a band they might not have checked out before or get in some good hang time with friends old and/or new.

i did hear that they're trying to get another large venue into play that would sizewise be bigger than common grounds, but not as big as the Venue.
