this thread is the places you're staying at thread, since Jana quit Fest I guess we have to police the board ourselves this year anyways, should I do what I did last year and come down without plans and manage to get hooked up or can someone make some concrete plans with me?

I looked into the hampton prices and they are ridgilous, kind of double of the ones of last year... I thought of getting a room there this year, but like that will hit the days inn or american best value inn again

Yeah, Holiday Inn is a little pricey, but it's buy a majority of the action party wise. I plan on staying there this year again.

What's the deal with how many people you can bundle in a room there? I would want to stay somewhere like that but what with flights being expensive I could do with not paying too much for accommodation.

You get given wristbands on check in (4 per room max) and after about 10pm there's security on the doors and you can't get in without it. I was outside having a drink a couple of years back at about 3 in the morning when security escorted some poor young kids from the premises for having too many people in their room. No refund either, just kicked them out in the middle of the night. Bunch of wankers!! I will be at the Hampton again this year as it was fucking great last year. It was also cheaper than the HI.

Last year my girlfriend and I stayed with some friends of hers who live up there, which was GREAT (because it was free). This year, however, it's looking more and more like she's not gonna be able to come with me (she graduated college and went and got a real job, what a sucker) so I might need a new place to stay.
So, yeah, somebody help me out.

It was also cheaper than the HI. yeah. that was me and a couple of friends getting kicked out of holiday inn! at like 420 in the morning. haha. we were told we weren't allowed to walk around the hotel, inside the building, with beers. WHAT THE FUCK. so we went back to our room and then we were accused of having too many people in our room even though there were only THREE of us staying there... we just had people over in our room hanging out. and all those other people hanging out in our room were staying at holiday inn and they all had wrist bands too. the real reason they kicked us out was because one of the security guards was called a fake cop and it hurt his feelings so he made up some stupid shit for holiday inn to kick us out. the worst part was being so drunk that we pretty much had to crawl down the street to find another hotel. haha. if you stay at holiday inn during Fest, you might as well kill yourself! haha. just kidding. anyway, i stayed at hampton inn downtown last year and that shit was tight! the workers there were so nice. they don't have security guards bossing you around like you're in prison. and they have free breakfast pizza!!! Fest 9 will be my sixth Fest and will probably stay at hampton inn again. by the way, i'm not a young kid. i'm a hard working adult (i'm an RN). so believe me when i tell you this shit!!!

Sorry, I meant no disrespect by the term young kids. I just meant you weren't a bunch of big old bearded geezers that looked like you might cause trouble and would have no worries about being thrown out on the street in the middle of the night!

Holiday Inn last year was great. We had a microwave and fridgerator in the room and the staff was cool, and I actually liked security being the line of defense between the crusties. They also didn't kick us out when we did the slip n' slide down the hallway floor.
I think I'm doing the Hampton this year though, And I'm going to eat the shit ouf of those waffles.

Hampton's not too bad actually if you have 4 people in a room, pretty much what I paid last year at America's Best Value I think.
So, who wants to room with me?
