Does this really happen? I knew a guy who said he refused to go to the Fest because it seemed like it was a big sausage Fest and women couldn't possibly be treated with respect. But as a woman, and my third year Festing, I can't say that I've felt like much of a minority despite not being male (which for the record, I always see just as many women Festers as well as men). I have been treated with so much respect and met so many great people, everyone in general is so friendly. I guess maybe I also have a different viewpoint of what to consider "bro dudes" or "hipsters" but I hardly see/saw any of those at Fest myself.

I understand you're mad at all the generalizations, I would be too. Because of this thread I've cut back even on my usage of the word "crust punk", because I don't know their deal. In fact, I was only making comments because I felt a lot of those uberpunk (who I will now call, uberpunk/super punk/etc) people (i.e., people who dress the part) were being very judgmental towards ME, which was especially displeasing because I've never experienced that in previous years attending Fest. I have nothing against you guys whatsoever, and I do in fact share a lot of the same beliefs/ideals, but in particular I just felt like this year I was a bit chastised for no reason, when hanging out at Wayward or even just walking down the street past them. Which is very upsetting to me, especially because I was nothing but friendly but still felt like I was being sneered at because I didn't belong there to them.

as someone who works with GPD on a regular basis I hope they realize taking this to court is not a smart idea, unless they can find a new video (with clear audio so you can hear the dialog) that shows the guy not resisting arrest and being tazed for no reason. Until then the only evidence they have besides witness testimony (which there are enough people arguing both sides of this to throw that out the window) and the video of the cop getting attacked

also there already is something around like the "Gainesville Citizens' Police Review Board" or whatever it is they are trying to start. except all people currently do at it is complain that GDP arrests too many black people.

They are worse there. Gville Sun stole a photo of mine an posted it with the option for people to buy said photo. I posted a comment in the article (which is somehow the same as posting in their forums?) calling them out on it and i got heckled immediately by their forum trolls. They never removed my photo as I requested either.
