Wow, its amazing to hear such hateful words between 'punks'. it really makes me wonder why we are all doing this in the first place. there are good & bad 'crusties' (which in my opinion is a stupid term because it was meant to describe a style of punk music, not a lifestyle, 'pops?' 'hardcores?' etc.) just as there are good & bad bike messengers, hipsters, rockers, business owners, band members, skateboarders, teachers, catholic priests, presidents, cops, etc. and I've met some fucking douchebag hipsters that in my book are on the same page as the wasted, racist, drug-addicted, violent traveling 'poser' punks that some mistakenly call "crusties" we can all agree that we dont like hippies though, right. anyways, the kids that were tasered, and arrested (one for open container) were, for one, not involved in the violence. Especially not was the super nice, intelligent, hard working, 'crusty' punk , Ryan, who, just because he doesn't look like all the cool kids in the bands, is not a hippie, junkie, redneck, blah, blah etc, as some posts have claimed, who have never met him (and those of you who generalize do make yourselves sound suspiciously like you could be referring to "those black people", or "those mexicans who ruin it for everyone", etc.) but just another kid there for the Fest party hanging out drinking much like everyone else there. When the violence broke, he was already on the ground getting the fuck tasered out of him. lucky to be alive. When did the punks become This punk or That punk, a hierarchical order of the better punks ruling over the lesser, not the punks united together in solidarity? Its time to uniify and get these kids charges dropped and let the people know its not the Fest goers that incited the violence, but the excessive police force that set off the 'riot' incident. the Fest should not be on trial here. the police that answer to no one should be. May we all watch out for each other, and to another awesome Fest next year... http://www.wcjb.com/news/5369/post-fest ... t-on-video

Agreed. It is one thing that you decided to live a certain way of life. Don't force an animal to live that life as well. I do realize that some of these people probably do take good care of their dogs. But I've yet to meet one of these people.

GenericInsight wrote: This is interesting to note at least for me. Aside from the up-the-punx crowd who dress really over the top, most Fest goers generally are just an average looking bunch of people in T-shirts and shorts and pants. Are they specifically referring to maybe the excess of tattoos and/or piercings? I'm always really intrigued by this. It's normal for folks to be weirded out I guess by anyone that looks different than them, but still. You have to remember that any other time of the year Gville in mostly occupied in that area by UF college students, Gator fans, business people on their lunch breaks and etc. Then for about a week out of the year the clientele drastically changes to be dominated by "us".

Yeah. Our smell definitely separates us. Well there you go. I'm not one of you guys then...haha All Fest I heard, "You smell so good after a day of shows how do you do it?!" I pride myself in that secret I've mastered.

Dont act like big stuff and stand in the road. Get the fuck out and let the cops get the fuck out. Neither group wants to get involved with each other. Im personally dont donating any of money. Call me an asshole, I dont care. You made me miss Bomb The Music Industry, you gave The Fest a band name, you may the reason The Fest 9 has even more cops, congrats.

ps. the "evil crusty" kid dancing in the road that made all the poor kids cry that didnt get to see their favorite band didn't even get arrrested, did not get tased, and is not facing felony charges because of it.
what if the cops nabbed you while you were standing there watching, took you to jail and charged you with a bunch of bullshit, and all of us who are trying to help them instead said, "fuck those stupid crusties, I hope they rot in prison"
how would you feel?
you dont have to do anything to help but you dont have to do anything to hurt either.

you dont have to do anything to help but you dont have to do anything to hurt either. Im not calling all the stupid people crusties. Im sure there where a ton of stupid people from various different types of punk subculture. No need to do hypothetical bullshit to me, if Im drunk and I see a cop car in the road, I get the fuck out of the road. I are smart. And that would be the top reason I go to the Fest, to see my favorite bands, so when shit like this prevents me from seeing them, Im going to be pissed.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kh8m3Z52E8This whole things was so uncalled for. I was staying at the house where Bomb the Music Industry! was supposed to perform at, so I was right there when it all happened and let me tell you, the cops were not at fault for this one.

Regardless, I still don't see how any of that justifies trying to beat the shit out of a cop.

there definitely wasn't excessive force used, at least by what i saw. A cop shows up because jackasses are harassing poor locals trying to get home (smashing the state apparently means trying to flip a womans car over with her in it) The cop gets out of his car to clear people out... and all these black clad assholes are throwing bottles and chanting bullshit rhetoric... and converging on the guy.. honestly we're lucky he was level headed and didn't start fucking shooting. And i watched a bunch of kids sucker punching and kicking the cop when he was down....personally i thought we were above that kind of behavior that i would expect from the cops in that situation.. but no it was us.
and honestly... there is a difference between "us punks" and "those punks" as soon as you start trashing private property, harassing innocent people and making a situation progress to the point where the safety of good kids looking to have a good time because you have some unresolved authority issues.. you're not one of us... you're part of the problem and just as bad as the cops... and probably worse because you're flying the flag. And yeah maybe a totally innocent kid got tasered, and arrested. and i feel bad about that. But maybe as a community we shouldn't allow fuckups who are just there to drink, drug and act like douchebags fuck it up for the rest of us.
and honestly... did that cop deserve to get fucking stomped on for trying to clear out a suburban street at 3am? honestly we're lucky no one was seriously injured or killed.

A big fuck you to all of these shitpunks!
We happened to notice that there were many of the same individuals who stopped FFA in Allston, MA from having shows this past summer by threatening my friend who lived there at knifepoint for absolutely no good reason and causing a similar sort of riot the night The Menzingers and Cobra Skulls played there.
Shitpunks should be excommunicated from society and forced to live in the sewers where they belong.
