can anyone help me out with a bit of info,

me and the rest of calvinball are gettin in to tampa aroun 8-8.30pm.
if we were to jump in a taxi at the airport and go straight to transitions show, how far away is it from the airport? would it be worth us going time-wise?

and also, don't suppose anyone would be there who'd space for 6 guys to crash on their floor on the weds night! long shot, but thought i'd ask before booking hostels or whatever.

am I really qualified to answer - no .. but from doing my maps and last year driving around tampa, something like 20- 25 min I would guess as you mainly take the interstate... and somebody said that the show last year thursday went on till 4am

I got a cab year before last and took 25 mins with traffic.

We're staying at the days inn which is 5 mins from transitions. About £60 a room. Get 4 in a room easy.

We're also staying in the Days Inn - will be there from late Tuesday night. Anyone have any suggestions for good places to patronize (aside from going to the show Wednesday night) around there?

Decent beer and / or vegan food would be nice.

For beer, I'd do New World Brewery. It's fairly close to Transitions. There might be shows though, so it might not be a free cover.

For food, you could check out Grassroots, but I'm not a huge fan of the place. Trang Viet's pretty good if you can drive a little bit.

i think david dondero and whiskey & co are playing at new world thursday night...


there's also Taco Bus about a 10 minute drive tops from the skatepark.

do you have a cell phone? if so, PM your number. i'm doing a smaller free show tonight, free pizza, and then me playing songs i dig down in st. pete (i think quite a few tampa people are coming)

on its way.. originally I wanted to pick up a friend at 9pm at the airport, so didnt make much plans, but she couldnt fly for personal reasons.. down to st pete could be an option (have a rental), or transitions , or just hanging around here as it seems more festers arriving tonight here at this hostel
