When I wrote my dissertations much of my time seemed to be spent on message boards too.
I'm not really sure what my excuse is now.

What was your dissertation about? I would rather be where you are than here haha.
Mine is titled: The Dissemination of Personal Information and Privacy Issues on Social Networks
It's essentially going to look at the privacy problems of being on Facebook and myspace. Why people are on there... and how our communication and transfer of information has totally changed....
but I don't want to write anything because I have nothing to say. ha

I don't think I'd want to read that because I know it's going to show that putting stuff on Facebook is a terrible, terrible idea. My first one was about how hopeless US third parties are, and my second one was about how China has affected and will affect international human rights law.

It's more of how we aren't protecting our own privacy. I dunno, it is what it is.
I was thinking about changing it to the History of Birth Control Information specifically focusing on the 1920's-1970's. But my professor hasn't gotten back to me so I need to go ahead with this right now.
Ugh.

I mean there are people that put on stuff that is of course terrible, but I put only things and pictures on, where I don't care anybody see's them.. in a certain way I don't care anyway what people think of me... also I'm aware it would be different being still 16 and in school the only thing would be when it comes down to applying for a job, but thats why I f.e. refuse to put my real name on mysapce and would always use another email to apply somewhere but I think more interesting than my thesis , which was kind of developing a flexible poll tool for a computer online mag including a basic analyzing tool

These sites not only affect future employment, but teachers, librarians etc.. have a bunch of stuff to deal with. It's not what people per se, but it's the information they get for example on facebook and myspace, they are data mining sites where they get information to advertise to you. I dunno. I have accounts but I dunno. which is probably why I'm having a hard time writing my paper. PLUS all the articles have been written in the last 3 years so it's still very relevant and new.

I barely put anything on facebook, precisely because I don't like the way it works, all your shit instantly shows up everywhere. on myspace, I use a fake name, profile is private, and I use an email address that I haven't checked in years.
