Yeah it is, Janeen found a newspaper link talking about its first day open.

Well, you can figure out how much rooms are at my link above if anyone is curious. I think this would make for a great location for the Official Executive Fest Hotel next year. if it is big enough. No way it could take the place of the holiday Inn though.

I have friends that do that every year. As long as you're not too picky then someone will have a place you can sleep I would have thought. Just don't tell immigration that's your plan or you'll be on the first flight home again!

Hands down, the Rush Lake Motel is the best place to stay. Ammenities include a nearby Steak 'n Shake, a marsh front view, bottle openers in every bathroom, front desk personell who don't mind a few prank phone calls, and a vending machine that offers free peanuts if you shake it hard enough.

i've stayed at Rush Lake every year since Fest 4. no complaints. love the beer openers in the bathroom. never a problem. runs about $150 for 3 nights.

last year i had a number of people saying they needed a place to crash, then they all bailed. i ended up sleeping on alternating beds all Fest (there were two in the room)

also, the walk's about 30-40 minutes to the Fest area, but me and friends just kept splitting cab rides (about 3-4 bucks each person, 10-12 bucks total for the ride). just call the cabs a good deal ahead of when you want to head down, because it can be a decent wait otherwise.

a couple years ago, we got a cab drivers personal number from him and would call him up on or off duty and get quick rides. tip well.
