I'm not sure yet if I'm going, but I'm definitely interested. If I am going, then I would be willing to take 2-3 people along with me to share the driving, gas money, and (maybe?) company while there. I live in Charlotte, but if you don't, then we could probably work something out.
I will take people on premises that they won't trash my car or bring illegal substances. Bonus points if you bring some rad tapes for the road. Let me know if you would up for it.

Unfortunately I live in Sanford(near horrible Fayetteville) and it's pretty hard finding people to go with out here. The one person I might be going with will most likely bail, so as opposed to driving 8 hours down there by myself I might be down with taking the 2 hours and 30 minute drive to Charlotte, parking near where you live, and going that way.
Also I'd be going like RIGHT NEAR Greensboro so if someone needed a ride from Greensboro there, I could do that.

Have you found a place to stay yet?

Not yet. Was thinking about going for the Hampton Inn though. $129 for 2 queen size beds, or $93 a night for "Current U.S. Government Employees", which I need to ask them if working retail on a base counts. Also it's only about a mile from where everything is happening.

I don't think I fly until evening so no worries about getting there on time. I'm more worried about having to get up early with a hangover if you guys want to set off early!!

Could I crash on the floor by any chance? I can, of course, chip something in for the hotel room.

I can give people a ride BACK to NC from the Fest in my Van. Central NC (Charlotte area) is preferred but I really dont mind taking the scenic route.

Getting to Fest from a different direction so cant help you there.
